Brickell has added a new jewel to its culinary crown with the opening of Chateau ZZ’s, a sophisticated Mexican restaurant and private club. Nestled in the historic Petit Douy estate, this venue is Major Food Group’s (MFG) first Mexican concept, adding to their impressive portfolio of high-end dining establishments in Miami.
The Petit Douy estate, designed by architect Martin L. Hampton and inspired by the Priory of Saint-Julien in France, has been meticulously restored to its former glory. Built in 1931, the chateau’s architecture reflects the opulence of early 20th-century Europe. The building, now a designated historic landmark, was previously a private residence and is opening to the public for the first time with the debut of Chateau ZZ’s.
The restaurant occupies the first level of the chateau and features multiple dining environments, including a solarium, lush gardens, a vibrant bar, and lounge areas. The interior, designed by Ken Fulk, Inc., combines 1930s Hollywood glamour with a modern twist, providing an ambiance of timeless elegance.
Chateau ZZ’s menu celebrates Mexican cuisine with a unique twist. Diners can expect a mix of traditional and innovative dishes such as tableside guacamole, Sweet Corn Elote, Lobster Aguachile Verde, and Ribeye Pastor. The menu also boasts housemade tostadas with luxurious toppings like caviar and truffle. The drink selection is equally impressive, offering over 1,000 varieties of tequila and mezcal, curated by MFG’s Head of Bars, Nathan McCarley-O’Neill.
The second level of the chateau is reserved for members of ZZ’s Club, offering an exclusive experience with additional dining and social spaces.
Chateau ZZ’s not only introduces a new culinary experience to Miami but also revives a piece of the city’s history, making it a must-visit destination for both food enthusiasts and history buffs alike (OpenTable) (Resy | Right This Way) (Miami New Times) (Haute Living) (PROFILEmiami).
